Who we are

HNGRY is a private, invite-only nonprofit and digital platform to facilitate refunds for Christ-centered discipleship meals. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: full name, email, mobile phone number, password.
• Profile information: gender, avatar, who invited you.
• Meal/receipt information: receipts, photos, attendees, meal dates, study topics, and reimbursement amounts you submit or are listed on.
• Phone verification record: the timestamp at which your mobile phone number was verified at signup.
• SMS program consent record (only if you opted in): the version of the SMS consent text you agreed to, the timestamp, the IP address, and the user agent at signup.
• Technical information: log and usage data needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use phone numbers and SMS

HNGRY uses mobile phone numbers for two distinct purposes:

Required for account identity

• Verify that you control the phone number on your account (one-time verification text sent at signup).
• Match you to the correct HNGRY account when another member lists you as an attendee on a meal receipt.
• Prevent duplicate accounts and fraudulent reimbursement requests.

Optional, only with your SMS consent

• Send non-marketing transactional text messages for meal attendance confirmations.
• Send status updates on receipt/reimbursement requests you are involved with.
• Send occasional HNGRY reminders.

Opting out of the ongoing SMS program (or never opting in) does not affect your ability to verify your account or use HNGRY. The same events are delivered via in-app notifications and email.

HNGRY does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent data with third parties for marketing, promotional, or any other purposes. Mobile information, including SMS opt-in data, is never shared with third parties or affiliates.

How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers required to operate HNGRY (for example, our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, and our SMS provider for transactional messages). These providers are bound by contract to use the information only to provide services to HNGRY.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

Your choices

• You can opt out of HNGRY text messages at any time by replying STOP to any HNGRY text message.
• You can request access to or deletion of your account by emailing support@hngry.org.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
